Hong Kong's waste production per capita is much higher than other advanced cities in Asia, especially food waste recorded with 3,300 tonnes per day in 2020. Without proper treatment, the biodegradable residue may risk the food security and ecosystem, therefore a state-of-art recycling and treatment facility for organic resource is needed.
