Veolia Hong Kong and Macau Football Tournament: A Day of Team Spirit, Fitness, and Sustainable Practices.
At Veolia, we believe in promoting an active lifestyle and positive values through various sports initiatives. On December 8, Veolia Hong Kong and Macau organized its annual Football Tournament Day for all colleagues in the regions, with a focus on enhancing health and well-being.
Colleagues from different departments, levels, and nationalities came together on the field to foster a sense of friendship and an inclusive work culture. We were happy to meet over 150 colleagues and their families at the HKJC Football Training Centre, a former landfill site that had been repurposed into a recreational space.
This year, we took our commitment to sustainability a step further by implementing eco-friendly practices during the event. For instance, we distributed water from a large, reusable container using portable pumps to avoid handing out single-use bottled water. Additionally, each player received a sustainable seed medal as a souvenir, which can be planted after the event, symbolizing our commitment to environmental protection.
Every significant change results from different small steps. Through events like the Football and Basketball Day, we not only foster teamwork and physical fitness but also raise awareness about sustainable practices, inspiring our colleagues and their families to make eco-friendly choices in their daily lives.
